Amsterdam 14.09.2022 – Fanfare de Eendracht Den Ilp has been crowned the winner of the 1st division for Fanfare orchestras during the World Music Contest of 2022.
On the 22nd of July, following a great performance of the orchestra including the première of my work Ouroboros, they were chosen as the winners of the 1st division. After months of rehearsals under the guidance of their conductor Marcel Visser, the orchestra performed Ouroboros outstandingly. The were able to play the music with the right ambiance, feeling energy, drive and virtuosity for which the jury, rightly so, granted them 1st place.
I congratulate Marcel and the orchestra for a great concert and am thankful for their commission for the WMC. It was great to work with the wonderful players during rehearsals and to have the opportunity to discuss and work on the composition with Marcel. It could not have been a better compositional debut for the World Music Contest.
